WHY Choose AUSTRALIAN SANDSTONE?

Sandstone is nature's equivalent to cement. But let's be honest, who really wants a cement block in their backyard when you can have the same resilience with a beautiful sandstone retaining wall.

The grains of sand and quartz are compressed together by minerals equivalent to cement, such as clay, calcium carbonate and or silica. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock that is created by the extreme climate of our Australian weather.

It takes hundreds of years for sandstone to form underground, so let us bring you a product that will be a part of your property for hundreds of years to come.

Frequently asked questions

At Rock Trans Enterprises, we understand that choosing the right sandstone for your project can come with a lot of questions. Whether it’s understanding the different grades of sandstone, arranging delivery, or knowing what to expect when your order arrives, we are here to help. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible, ensuring you feel confident in your choices.

  • What is the difference in the grades of sandstone?

    • A-Grade is the top of the grades. There is a choice of 5 or 6 wheel sawn consistent faces
    • B-Grade Premium is the most popular of the grades with 4-5 wheel sawn faces. If your wall will be facing your house, I recommend B-Grade Premium.
    • B-Grade is a by-product of the 2 previous grades. They will have 2 wheel sawn faces and are the most cost effective. If your wall is facing your neighbours house, B-Grade is your best option.

  • Am I able to pick the colour of the sandstone?

As sandstone is a natural product of the Earth, there will be variations in colour, composition and texture. The colour will depend on the location of the quarry.

  • How much sandstone can I get in one delivery?

We have the capacity to deliver the following quantity of sandstone blocks:

    • 30 x 400mm x 400mm x 1000mm - Body Truck
    • 60 x 400mm x 400mm x 1000mm - Truck & 3 axle dog trailer
    • 74 x 400mm x 400mm x 1000mm - Truck & 4 axle dog trailer
    • 18 x 500mm x 500mm x 1000mm - Body Truck
    • 40 x 500mm x 500mm x 1000mm - Truck & 3 axle dog trailer
    • 50 x 500mm x 500mm x 1000mm - Truck & 4 axle dog trailer
    • 12 x 600mm x 600mm x 1000mm - Body Truck
    • 30 x 600mm x 600mm x 1000mm - Truck & 3 axle dog trailer
    • 34 x 600mm x 600mm x 1000mm - Truck & 4 axle dog trailer
  • How soon can I get my sandstone delivered?

Whilst we will endeavour to get your sandstone delivered as quickly as possible, we understand that you may need time to arrange your wall builder to view your site. Give us a call and we will pencil you in for the best possible delivery date.

  • How are the sandstone blocks unloaded?

Depending on access for our vehicle and the safety of the site, our drivers should be able to tip the blocks off the back of the truck close to where you want them. If you are going to buy A-Grade sandstone we recommend having an excavator on site to machine unload the blocks.
